On May 4, 2001, Bonnie Lee Bakley was shot dead in a car outside a restaurant in Studio City, California. Her husband, actor Robert Blake, was charged with the murder but acquitted in 2005. He was later found liable in a civil trial. Blake maintained his innocence until his death in 2023. The case was never resolved criminally.
